My Students

I am very fortunate to teach the students of this community. They are motivated, inquisitive, and really enjoy collaborating when given a project. Over the past year, parents have generously donated towards my vision of introducing STEM-based chemistry and biology labs involving amazing technology that is used to gather data.

The students appreciate the opportunity to use the STEM lab equipment because it allows them to use technology while collaborating and using critical thinking to produce results which help prepare them for the future.

My Project

This year I am truly enjoying teaching chemistry AP because the students are amazing and willing to try their best with every lab. I want to keep that going with this project. There are 16 labs that the college board recommends which will appear in some way on the exam in May. Luckily, Flinn Scientific has a kit which focuses on six inquiry-based labs.

The six engaging inquiry lab activities are aligned to the latest AP curriculum standards and well-suited to the second semester of the academic year.

Each kit includes comprehensive background information, easy-to-follow step-by-step procedures, student worksheets, detailed teacher notes, and the basic materials needed to perform each laboratory experiment. I am also including Dr. Vonderbrink's teacher and student lab manuals. She designed some of the best known labs for chemistry AP students and I wanted to share those with my kids!
