My Project

Our school district is a very high-poverty school district with caring parents. My students are a caring bunch who love to learn and have fun while learning. We have come a long way over the last few years and have done some fantastic things.

In my class, learning to write is not simply putting words on paper.

Writing is an opportunity to express one's thoughts, feelings, wishes, fears, opinions, and ideas. The written word is a powerful tool, and I hope to instill love and confidence in my students' writing abilities.

I have the opportunity to teach the entire fifth grade at my elementary school the subject of writing. This subject is only tested through national standardized tests in fourth grade. So, I take this responsibility seriously and want to provide the resources, experiences, and knowledge needed to excel. The various supplies in this project will help me support my students in becoming more successful writers.
