Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are all great individuals that have such great desire to keep learning and becoming better people. My students are all very hard working youth and that is something I can see through their written assignments and it is also reflected in the way they carry themselves. Our school is located in a low income, and its mission is college for all, no exceptions. These children do the best with what they have at all times and it is my greatest desire to see them thrive in high school and eventually into college.
Some of my kids have to get dropped off at the school earlier than usual because their parents have to head to work to put food on their plates.
These children and their families go above and beyond to make education possible. I truly admire each and everyone of them for their distinct characteristics and abilities. They all have amazing future ahead of them and I am thrilled I get to be a part of that.
My Project
In the education field we all know that there are different learning styles and the top 2 are auditory and visual. Having a projector and a speaker will help fulfil the needs of my students to better learn and grasp the given information in class. Reading a worksheet or book and listening to me lecture is not the only way my students learn and providing these items to them in the class will enhance the learning experience and retention. Providing clarity to see the material we are going over and hearing the audio of videos or even music during independent work time, these items are a necessity.
