Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Are we going to learn about World War II?" "Are we going to learn science this year?" "What kind of art projects are we going to do?" These are only some of the questions my students asked me throughout the year.

My class is full of curious and creative individuals who are very eager and ready to learn in school again.

The amazing thing is that this pandemic has not stopped their excitement when assigned a new math game, or when listening to a read aloud, and I do not want their excitement to die out anytime soon.

My Project

This set of graphic novels comes with 14 single copy graphic novels for students to read independently, along with 6 sets of differentiated novels that can be used for small group instruction and 2 novels in Spanish. This will be helpful for my class of 30 kids all with different reading abilities and interests.

These high-interest graphic novels will help enhance students' reading experience as they can observe the graphics when they are reading.

The 6 sets of differentiated novels each will have 6 copies so that small group instruction can take place, which can spark conversation and analytical thinking.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
