Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how resilient and hardworking my students are. Even when learning feels challenging, they continue to show up and try. Many of my students in grades 6–12 receive special education services and benefit from extra support with focus, emotional regulation, and staying engaged. They are creative, kind, and thrive when they feel safe, supported, and understood.

The resources in this project will directly support their ability to learn and succeed.

Fidgets, stress balls, and magnetic tools will give students a safe and appropriate way to release energy, helping them stay seated, focused, and engaged in their work. Sensory items like calming lights and visual tools will create a peaceful classroom environment that reduces anxiety and supports students who may feel overwhelmed. These tools are especially helpful for students who struggle with attention, impulsivity, or emotional regulation.

By providing these supports, I am helping my students build independence, confidence, and self-regulation skills they can carry beyond the classroom. When students have access to the tools they need to feel calm and focused, they are more willing to participate, complete their work, and believe in their ability to succeed.
