Help me give my students bike stands for the tools they need to learn a skill.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Barbara's classroom raised $681
This project is fully funded
My Students
My special needs students have low IQ, are physically handicapped, and have learning disabilities. Low income will mean most of the teenagers will not be fully sustaining adults. I teach them life skills that will enable them to enhance their lives.
Many of these individuals will never drive but can ride a bicycle.
The bike repair skills will be their life support to keep their bicycles operational.
My Project
I obtain broken bicycles from local police and pawn shops to fix in my classroom. Most of these students will never obtain a drivers license, but many of them can ride a bicycle.
Learning a skill is a personal achievement.
The students pick out the bicycle they would like to repair on the requested bike stands and at the end of the semester they can take it home, with the knowledge that they can maintain it with the skills and pride in knowing that they can ride their bikes and the freedom that goes with it.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
