We received over 40 Hank the Cow Dog books for him to read.\r\n\r\nHe is learning so much good vocabulary (and good dad jokes, too!). We laugh regularly throughout my reading. We practice repeating Hank's infamous sayings so he can practice his speech, as he struggles greatly to be understood. Having something he is interested in makes him more willing to repeat himself when he hasn't been understood.\r\n\r\nMy student is bed-bound so stories of familiar life (he lives out in the country next to farms and has a few dogs at home) helps him connect with the material while learning new things.
