Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school with 90% of our students on free or reduced-price meal plans. We have many English language learner (ELL) students at our school. Over half of my students are ELL students. Our students come from working families and families who speak other languages at home. Some parents are not able to communicate in English with us, but we do have Spanish-speaking translators on site.
Our staff is very caring and committed to providing a nurturing, fun, and engaging classroom for all our students.
We want students to know that we will be there for them and give them as much as we possibly can. One great thing about our school is that we have one-to-one devices with iPads or Chromebook computers. For many students, this is the first time they have been able to use and engage with today's technology.
My Project
My project is for paper supplies like colored paper and laminating sheets. We are also in need of ink to print projects and pictures for wall displays. All these supplies will help improve the lives of my students as they will have supplies to have fun and bright projects throughout the year.
These items will be a lifesaver not only for me but also my students.
During many lessons my students enjoy Expo markers. I am requesting a class set so each student can have one of their own. These are used a lot and we go through many throughout the year. These will surely be a hit with my students!
