See what Ms. Brandi is requestingMy students need writing/cutting aides, and tools to strengthen hands. The activity tablet and draw on me table would be a great addition to early childhood centers. Items selected can be used in/out of class.

As a therapist traveling between schools in a low income/high poverty district, I hear and see many of the difficulties my students face on a daily basis. Many come from single or split parent families, and some with heart wrenching backgrounds. My students attend a district with significant needs; one that provides free food and water, and one that is also very limited in resources.
My students inspire me daily; they are FUN, creative, and sometimes challenging, yet they are always determined to beat the odds.
Some crave and require movement, heavy work tasks and structure, while others need a quiet and stationary environment to engage and focus. Some may need highlighted worksheets, while another may prefer a room with dimmed lighting. Other students become independent through use of visuals, while others learn to decrease unsafe behaviors or increase engagement via oral motor stimulation.
These are my students, my students with special needs. They give my life greater meaning, and warm my heart every. single. day.
We are requesting resources to support center based therapy sessions for early childhood students, as well as mainstreamed push in sessions with the general education population. The gel writing boads, prewriing stones, and the draw on me table all provide more tactile feedback and would improve learning of both prewriting and handwriting skills. The cut and cruise magnetic car would be used to teach proper thumb up positioning of the hand to cut along a line, while the gum fun finger strengthener will do just what its' title indicates plus promote pincer and finger isolation skills. The write guide templates assist with spatial orientation of letters including spacing between letters and words. The weighted pencils improve pressure for light writers, and the LED activity tablet provides visual stimulation, which many of our students seek and need for optimal learning.
The tools requested would be significantly beneficial to a wide range of ages, and would be used to promote success within their classroom environments.
