My Students

These students attend a public school in San Francisco, where the diversity is immense in all aspects. Students come to our school with varying socioeconomic backgrounds, differing English language acquisition levels, special needs, and childhood experiences. Because all students think and learn differently, it is very important to be able to reach all students at their learning levels.

My students need an iPad charging station, wobble cushions, auditory phones, and craft writing materials to help focus better during class and learn responsibility and organizational skills.

My Project

The classroom needs a charging station for the iPads used daily. Students access the three classroom iPads frequently. Having a concealed charging station helps keep the classroom clutter-free and safe from dangling cords that could potentially get damaged or trip hazards. Students would also be directed to put the iPads back on the charging station so that they do not get misplaced around the classroom. Other necessary items that our classroom needs include a paper trimmer, staplers to create booklets at the writing center, and colored paper to make their books attractive. Students would also benefit from wobble cushions to help with focus and attention during independent work time and group lessons.

Having a permanent place for the iPads in the classroom, as well as new tools for the writing center will help teach students necessary organizational skills and promote more focused learning.

These new additions to the classroom would hopefully teach students new skills (ie. how to use a stapler), reinforce routines and responsibility for things, and engage with their learning environment more interactively.
