This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The thing that I love the most about my students is that they push me to reinvent the way I do things. I teach in an area where approximately two-thirds of the students are at an economic disadvantage, but they don't let that define who they are. My students have diverse backgrounds, and I love to get to know all of their stories and embrace the awesome kids that they are! My students never fail to inspire me to become a better teacher. My students are 6th-grade STEM students who are always looking for a challenge! They don't just want to learn something; they want to apply meaning to it, and they want to know that it is relevant. I want to be able to give them the opportunity to learn, have fun, and challenge themselves in the process.

Robotics is a huge part of the careers of tomorrow!

My students need the right tools when they design, test, and improve their robots. Dremel tools will be used to cut metal shafts. On occasion, these shafts may need to be cut because if they are too long, they could get caught on a competition field element and divert the robot's course. Students will be shown proper procedure when using these tools and will be wearing safety glasses at all times when using! This is part two of two projects for robotics tools.
