My Project

Teaching special education in a PK-8, rural setting can be challenging. My students are learning to build grit, self-advocacy, and reading, writing, and math skills. This project will provide them with tools to support their learning. From math manipulatives to book study supplies to self-regulation tools, students will grow in their skills.

Giving students hands-on learning tools is best practice for all students, but especially supports students with learning disabilities and other health impairments.

These tools will help my students master concepts and become more independent learners. Students will also be able to use the tools in their core classrooms, further enabling them to apply the skills learned in the special education classroom.
