As you know, school budgets are tight. This means that there isn't always funding to complete less urgent projects like updating a classroom library. However, the impact of having brand new, high-interest reading materials at a variety of reading levels readily available to students is nearly too big to quantify. It's also exciting for me as the teacher to see students so excited to try new books. I've \"rationed\" some of the packages of books to carry the excitement through the school year. It's been so much fun opening a new box or envelope of books every week or two and adding to our library. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the book ends purchased have allowed us to organize our classroom library in a way that allows students to find and select books easier, based on author and/or genre. This update not only makes our classroom look better, it also feels better knowing there is a wide variety of reading materials available to readers of all abilities in my classroom. Thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1726019241154,"projectUrl":"project/hook-books-to-make-every-student-a-reade/8751710/","projectTitle":"Hook Books to Make Every Student a Reader!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dunkelberger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3579395"},{"teacherId":9736762,"projectId":8813506,"letterContent":"It was such a joy to receive books, magazines, and games that will support our middle school Spanish class! We have already used the magazines multiple times to look for cognates (words that look/mean similar) in Spanish. Soon we will be starting a snack unit and students will learn to describe foods in Spanish. The books we received about food will create an amazing authentic literacy experience to connect the words and cultures we have been learning about. Students of all ages love picture books and exposing them to culture and language through those books is a great instructional strategy.\r\n\r\nRecently, our small rural school has received two families of newcomers to the US. Being able to support them with text they can read in Spanish has made the experience more comforting to them. Our middle school students partner with the preschool class and our littlest non-English speaker is able to enjoy story time just like her peers.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my classroom with the supplies that enable my students to become more global thinkers!","fullyFundedDate":1730733526247,"projectUrl":"project/building-bridges-while-learning-spanish/8813506/","projectTitle":"Building Bridges While Learning Spanish","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Spencer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9736762"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78413","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":143,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.9,"schoolId":78413,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fair-Mont-Egan Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fair-Mont-Egan Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/fair-mont-egan-school-dist-3/fair-mont-egan-elementary-school/78413"}
