Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are wonderful and creative. They love to learn and they inspire us to provide them with the best opportunities possible. Many of our students come from all over the city just to attend our school. Some of our students get up early (before the sun rises) in the morning to make the journey to our campus. They represent the diversity of our city ethnically, linguistically, and socioeconomically. They also represent a wide range of academic abilities from special education to English language learners to gifted students and we are challenged with meeting all of their learning and emotional needs.
We are multi-cultural, low income, urban school.
My students are hard working and eager to learn, but many come to school depending on the meals they will receive. Some have not had much experience with formal education. Many are the first generation to see college as an option. All of their parents hope they will continue their education on to high school and college. Some of our students are socioeconomically challenged and homeless. Which means they have very limited access to something as simple as backpacks with school supplies.
My Project
My hardworking students that come from low-income families. They will be able to utilize the backpacks and school supplies donated by your generous donations. They will feel more motivated writing down their assignments, completing class work, and homework.
This will assist students to show their full academic potential and have basic supplies needed for academic success.
Every student deserves to feel good about themselves when coming to school. By donating to our project, you will not only be helping providing school supplies, but you will be helping them ultimately improve their academic achievement.
Many of our students come to school without backpacks and basic supplies to succeed. My project will assist them on focusing on their education and not the lack of materials needed for class.
