Our students are getting fed, but many other life essentials are lacking in their lives. In the winter, many of our students do not have jackets or sweaters. Lack of these "life essentials" is obvious and distracts from their ability to concentrate on their studies. Many of our families have to choose between food or a sweater for their child. Sometimes the child is forced to stay home to avoid the cold weather. By having a few warm hooded pullover sweatshirts available for our students, we can reduce the fear of cold weather and increase their attendance. This will boost their self confidence and allow them to focus on being the best they can be. Our students may not have all their basic needs met, but they still work hard at school and do the best they can. Just imagine what they can do if they are not worrying about being cold or wet! They will be able to concentrate on the important things in school. They are the future leaders!
