My Project

In my ASD 3 kindergarten–first grade classroom, structure, organization, and predictability are essential for student success. My students thrive when materials are clearly organized, expectations are visually supported, and they have the tools to work independently. However, many of my students struggle with organization, transitions, and maintaining focus during independent work. Without the right support, tasks can feel overwhelming, leading to frustration and decreased engagement.

This project will provide essential classroom tools that promote structure, independence, and focus.

Privacy folders will help minimize distractions and give students a defined workspace during independent tasks and assessments. Clipboards will allow students to work flexibly around the classroom while maintaining structure. Dry-erase boards will provide opportunities for repeated practice in a low-pressure way, encouraging participation without fear of making mistakes.

Additionally, headphones will support students who need reduced noise and help them stay focused during technology-based learning. Organizational tools like clipboard holders and folders will ensure materials are easily accessible and routines remain consistent.

These materials will help create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment where students can build independence and confidence.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
