Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are creating an outdoor learning space for our students. Research shows that green space can have a positive effect on students and their mental well being. We also want more space for hands-on activities for our science classes. Our goal is to have the tools to maintain our outdoor space and tools for students to use as they learn in this space. Our students live in a very urban area with little exposure to green space. Our green space will also have native plants from our area to help conserve on water, attract local wildlife and pollinators.
