Help me give my students the tools to engage in hands on learning. Students will use binders, dividers, and sheet protectors as interactive journals for all subjects. Headphones will also be necessary for activities that include oral response.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help my first graders who are joining me as I move up as a second grade teacher. I am so grateful to continue alongside their learning journey for an additional year. I have noticed the most successful tools that have assisted my students in their learning.

Binders, sheet protectors, dividers, folders, dry erase markers, and boards, will ensure students engaged in the classroom with interactive notebooks.

My students have successfully grown to get their notebooks and participate in daily calendar time, as well as being able to reference anchor charts during independent learning time. The dry erase boards and word mapping boards will also serve as an important tool in our classrooms during sight word review and sentence structure. The headphones will also serve as a important tool as we work on reading independently and engaging in oral response.

I have seen this group of students grow tremendously, and have taken charge of their own learning as they engage in hands on activities. I have no doubt that these tools will serve as an important piece to our learning journey as we all continue on to second grade together!

Ms. Hinojo will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 20.
