Tools for Hands-on Math Learning

Help me give my students the individual math manipulatives, such as base ten blocks and place value disks, to help them develop a strong conceptual understanding of place value!

My Project

What I love best about teaching second grade is witnessing the tremendous growth that happens this year. These students come so far in the second grade, both academically and emotionally.

The last two years have been a challenge when it comes to small group work and hands-on learning; students need individual sets math manipulatives.

Place value understanding is a foundation for success in math; second grade is when we build that foundation!

I've selected a number of high-quality math tools and containers to organize and store the individual student sets. I need place value discs, base ten blocks, and pencil pouches for the tool kits. This will allow all students to have access to these tools, with a set for each student instead of sharing materials, with safety in mind.
