I've got the honor and pleasure of teaching a wonderfully diverse, enthusiastic, and energetic group of seven-and eight-year-olds as a Second Grade Teacher at Mann Elementary School in Tacoma, WA. They are full of energy and excitement and are a very inquisitive bunch. I have students from every part of the socio-economic and developmental spectrum, but the vast majority of students at our school are living in poverty. Ours is a Title I school, serving the east side of Tacoma. I want to make sure that I provide my students with every opportunity for success. Second graders have so much unspent creative energy and I am looking forward to tapping into that potential. A rich, integrated multicultural experience is an essential component of teaching the whole child. Integrating authentic art experiences into the other areas of the curriculum, particularly the STEM subjects, is a passion of mine. Thanks!
