This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my classroom, students don’t just sit and listen—they think, collaborate, and problem-solve together. I use vertical whiteboards and random groupings to create a dynamic learning environment where students engage in rich mathematical discussions, take risks, and learn from each other. However, our current whiteboard stickers are wearing out, and we need a standing whiteboard to expand our workspace.
With these new materials, my students will have more opportunities to work visibly, test ideas, and refine their thinking in real time.
They thrive in this hands-on, interactive setting, where mistakes become learning moments and perseverance leads to deeper understanding.
