Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The items I'm requesting will help my students start the year organized and motivated to learn. I'm a firm believer that students can succeed when they have the tools for success. The folders will keep all notes and important examples in one place. The sharpened pencils will eliminate distractions and optimize time on task by easily swapping the broken ones out. We use individual whiteboards to work out our math problems and we go through a lot of dry-erase makers.

It's getting harder and harder to keep students' attention in class.

Creating anchor charts collaboratively with students will enhance engagement and ownership of the learning process. The charts will act as reminders, helping students retain information and apply it during problem-solving. The easel pads and markers will be used for creating the charts. Math centers are a great way to keep students engaged as well. The cardstock will be used to create task cards and other engaging student-led centers. Hands-on is the way to go.

My students are special because most of them deal with family issues daily but yet they come to school. They shouldn't have to worry about purchasing supplies. When we're able to take care of the basic things, they can come in and focus on learning.
