Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When teaching essential phonics and literacy skills to my TK students, I use small group rotations to better meet each child’s individual needs. A Tonies for Teachers Audio Player would enrich these rotations by offering a fun, engaging, and screen-free way for students to enjoy a variety of stories and songs together. My goal for this project is to help my TK students practice making decisions as a group, take turns, share with one another, and strengthen foundational literacy skills that will support them throughout elementary school and beyond. Tonies bring a touch of magic to storytime by using audio only, encouraging children to visualize and imagine each story in their own unique way.

I hope that adding a Tonies Player to our classroom will spark excitement about reading and inspire my students to discover the wonder books can bring into their lives.

My students are truly special—they love to use their imaginations and they believe in the magic of school. Many of these students are eager to come to school and explore the world each day, and I would love to share in that magic-making with this project.
