My Project

A Tonie box is a wonderful way to engage students in reading.. It can be challenging for a beginning reader to want to pick up a book if they expect to struggle the whole time. A Tonie box would give my students the opportunity to enjoy favorite books and stories without the pressure of being a perfect reader.

A Tonie box will be fun, but it also promotes language development, and literacy, for pre readers.

My second grade classroom has reading abilities ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade readers. This can help all my students become better readers and enjoy reading with familiar characters that make it engaging. Research shows that Tonie boxes can increase comprehension scores by 60%, increased vocabulary scores by 66%, and a 53% improvement in attention.

My goal with this project is to allow all my students the opportunity to read. My students are so motivated and wanting to read. This will help bringing the magic of reading to each of them when an adult or myself is not available. In this donation, I am asking for 2 Tonie boxes, Tonie characters with books when available, and headphone splitter so that the joy of this screen free device can be enjoyed by multiple students.
