My students need the tools and technology to compete in our ever growing and ever competitive world.

My Students

My students are a diverse, energetic, creative bunch. 30% are English language learners, and another 20% are challenged with some form of special need. Each brings to the classroom discussion a rich and robust experience. Being an urban public school, we don’t have the resources to give each student the proper technology and yet we have a strong emphasis on S.T.E.A.M. learning to utilize and develop deeper understanding and critical thinking skills.

I want each of my students to learn from, and express their individuality and world perspectives through the use of technology.

The same technology that will be used in their chosen career fields in the future. They need to use them now to gain the necessary experience to compete with their more privileged peers who already have access to the technology.

My Project

The use of modern camera technology transcends the need to fully understand a language or concept. With the use of cameras, along with computer programs, to communicate with, learn from, and express their creative selves, students can tell a story from their perspectives and tapping into their knowledge base. Using these cameras and the equipment associated with it, students will also be able to build upon their content knowledge and learn from each other through the creative practice of videography.

The students’ use of modern camera technology to express their knowledge and creativity will dramatically improve their sense of self worth and ability by enabling them to contribute to the larger classroom discussion and learning experience.

With these cameras and equipment I want my students to be able to create documentaries and stories concerning their lives through concepts in biology, physics, chemistry, and engineering by using dslr and go pro cameras to capture as much information as possible. With your help and generosity my students will achieve these goals!
