My Students

I am proud to teach at our school in Howe, Idaho where it is very rural and beautiful. Our school has a total of 40 students ranging from grades K-5. We have two certified teachers, one part time paraprofessional and one part time secretary. It is basically a two room schoolhouse and education is a mix between current Common Core practices and the old foundation of the "one room schoolhouse." I am excited to be a part of a truly unique environment!

My Project

I am blessed to teach some amazingly unique students every day! Because this project is focusing on tolerance, I am asking for supplies that help support my most unique students. My hope Is that with these supplies I will be able to better support and embrace tolerance with in my classroom. Many of my students struggle with staying on task; we have had tremendous success with bouncy bands for desks are interested in trying fidget pencil toppers for all my students. Another way we are working on tolerance is through Art; we need paint brush varieties and Washi tape for crafts. Art time is an amazing time in my classroom. Art allows for my students that struggle academically to be successful and lead the class in individuality during art. It is critical for these at-risk students to find success and we have found it in art.

Tolerance is critical in my classroom; each person plays a critical role and is needed.

By teaching students art and allowing all my students to be successful by the use of bouncy bands and fidget pencils, our classroom will be a better, more tolerant place for everyone.
