My students are in a Title I school district. Most kids don't have parents at home that help them with homework or are involved in their learning. I want my students to want to come to school because it is exciting! I would like to incorporate STEAM into my classroom this year. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. It is an opportunity for student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.

Not just telling, but real experiences.
I would love for my students to have the same opportunities as other students. I truly believe that learning can be so fun and my hope is that these kids will fall in love with school because it is a fun, safe, loving, learning environment for them.
My Project
The materials that I have chosen will give my students a hands-on approach through exploration. STEAM is what I plan on integrating into my classroom this year. STEAM uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math to guide student learning. I am planning to also integrate reading and writing.
Students will engage in experiential learning, problem-solving and embrace collaboration.
With items such as Magz-Bricks, Brain Flakes, Straw Builders, my students will be creative, risk takers and work collaboratively with their peers. The benefits of this type of learning are tremendous for my growing, exploring and experimenting students.
