This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Helen Lehman students love to use their muscles in challenging ways. Working together in a cooperative team setting is a great way to motivate and encourage to understand that together everyone achieves more.

Students at Helen Lehman have an abundance of energy.

Most kids at our school love to play at recess and PE however some activities require specific equipment that is not yet available. Our school is next to a park with a large grass field that may be used for a variety of games and sports.

My Project

The tug-of-war exercise is a classic team building activity where two groups of people grab on to a rope on either side of a flag. On the mark they will all attempt to pull the other side of people across a marker.

The tug-of-war it a total body exercise however the part of your body that will be the most sore afterwards is your face because of all the smiling you will have done.

This whole class activity gets everyone involved. When groups of students can synchronize their efforts they will have the most success. Tug of war is a great way to teach teamwork, perseverance and cooperation.
