My Project

My students are active, inquisitive and excited about learning! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and encourage each other to try hard and be the best they can be. I learn so much from them each and every day!

Our school is in the heart of the city of St.

Louis. Our students' families work hard to provide for the needs of their children, but often struggle to give them the "extra" things that so many of us take for granted....learning games, books, etc. Because of this, our students come to us with delays that must be overcome to help them achieve academically and socially.

Every child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, each in their own way! We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are.

My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and read books to themselves and each other! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school reading titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. With these new books and chairs, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them read independently and become our leaders of tomorrow!
