My Students

Our elementary school is a unique place. Most of the children who attend can walk to school. Our school is the hub of the neighborhood. Children who attend our school call the playground their park. With 500 children within walking distance, this place is not just a part of the neighborhood; it is the center of the community.

The children who attend our school come from all backgrounds with a variety of needs.

We serve 100% free lunch and breakfast to all of our children. Our Title I school has a growing Hispanic population which values education and learning.

The library is the hub of our school. Filling the shelves with current, engaging literature has been my priority as the new librarian. Please consider donating to help my students find the books they are hoping will one day appear. Your donations make a difference in our school everyday.

My Project

With 640 students in our kindergarten to fourth grade elementary school, these classic titles are being requested every day. Sadly there aren't enough books to go around to meet the daily demands. The books we do have on the shelves have been well loved. Some have even been loved so much that they are no longer in good condition for checkout.

These are just some of the popular titles and authors that are requested daily in our school.

Authors like Dr. Seuss, Anna Dewdney, and Doreen Cronin are daily favorites for our kindergarten and first graders. Minecraft and Dog Man are some of the most popular series loved by our second through fourth graders.

These books will make a impact on our students each and every day they are being checked out. Please consider donating to our library to keep pushing a love for literacy in our schools! Thank you.
