This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students really are my favorite people. They are kind, extremely witty, and very competitive (kind of like their teacher). They work hard and motivate each other to be better. I am so impressed with the work ethic that I see developing in these kids.

My Project

The requested materials will allow me to challenge readers with a new class novel, as well as add books to our class library at all different reading levels and interest levels.

One of my goals is to give my students greater access to text in our class library, as well as reading novels as a class.

After distance learning during the pandemic, my school has noticed a steep decline in fluency and reading skills. Having books that challenge students and books that interest them helps young readers develop a love for learning that hopefully, they take with them throughout their lives.
