My Students

My students are a lively, hard-working, and adaptable bunch. From the start of the year we have been faced with several challenges and adjustments, that together we have overcome and adapted to.

We started the school year in a new building, with new administration, and a whole new dynamic.

We bonded quickly over the fact that we were in this together, and quickly became a family. These students care tremendously for each other and for their schoolwork. They are all incredibly resilient and driven to succeed. This has proven to be of utmost importance, especially now with our school closed due to COVID-19.

My Project

Storyworks gives students access to standards-aligned texts that are interesting, fun, and educational. Storyworks does an amazing job of exposing students to both fiction and nonfiction texts, current events, drama, debate topics, and more.

The articles and stories that are included in each issue encourage students to think critically about a wide variety of topics.

Not only do I believe that Storyworks is a crucial part of standards-aligned Language Arts instruction, but it also introduces and explains topics that are cross-curricular at a fourth grade reading level. Students will truly benefit from this subscription!
