My students need story books added to our classroom library as well as supplemental resources for additional support with Reading. Writing Prompt Cubes will also keep my students engaged in the writing process.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Reading is thinking!" "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader!"
"Reading allows your imagination to take you places..." These are just some of the quotes around our room.
This is a very special year for my students to begin their own passion for learning!
"A well-educated mind will always have more questions than answers." -Helen Keller.
Some of my students come from low-income families and are part of our English Learner (EL) program. They are very curious about learning and soak it up like sponges. My goals are to create lifelong learners, joy in discovery, and qualities of leadership.
My Project
The wireless keyboard will enable my students to gain access to our Clear Touch Panel that is new to our classroom. It works as a PC computer so we are limited in its use until we have a wireless keyboard. There are quite a few books that I strive to add to our classroom library. I love having books about people, places and holidays. I would be so thrilled for my students to have the writing prompt cubes.

Writing is a big focus for second grade and I believe the cubes would get them excited for writing.
I have added other supplemental resources that would greatly help my ELL students and struggling readers. Reading comprehension and fluency would be greatly enhanced with the Phonics book for struggling readers. I included two pocket charts so I could showcase the sight words at the front of the room and for small group. Your help will make all the difference.
