I'm in my second year of teaching in first grade at a small Nebraska school! My students are creative, thoughtful and curious! They come to school every day ready to learn and grow. My students are book-loving and enthusiastic learners. I want to help them continue to grow in reading with supplying them with fun and engaging literacy manipulatives.

I believe that using manipulative-based teaching in the classroom can motivate and engage students to learn. When using the manipulative material with language arts, it's like exploration time when students can make sense of things we have read or talked about. Students will be able to ask questions while exploring to gain understanding in reading/language arts.
My Project
These materials will help enhance and help my students learning. They will be able to use these materials in literacy centers, where they will make connections with what we are learning about with hands-on manipulatives. They will be able to take their learning to another level! I will also be able to use the materials during guided reading working with phonics and sight words. I believe working hands-on will help my students retain new sounds to help them become stronger readers while keeping them engaging and motivated to learn. I know my students will enjoy working with and using these materials.
