This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is no longer the wave of the future, but it is our PRESENT. Technology is embedded in every aspect of our lives, and our children need to achieve computer proficiency. It is necessary for students to start early, so they can boldly go where no one has gone before!

Our school is a Title I elementary school in an economically disadvantage area.

Even through our strong efforts, we have become a Program Improvement Level 4 school. Our growth has been slow and steady, but we continue to show improvement every year. The classroom consists of students in an English Only program and Structured English Immersion program.

My Project

Education is a life long process. Students need to have access to technology to open the door for new learning possibilities. Education should also meet the needs of a variety of learners. It is a requirement of the society that the students should possess technological literacy. I am requesting 1 tablet and 4 pairs of headphones. Students will be able to use the tablet and headphones to: access a variety of learning resources, work collaboratively, gain authentic and up-to-date information, have access to online libraries and other sources of information, and to use various computer software programs.

We are currently meeting the needs of our students using the California Standards in English, Math, Social Science, Art, Science, and Physical Education.

Unfortunately, because of our dire need for technology, we are not meeting the California Standards in Technology. We are also not meeting the needs of our students to be competitive in today's world. They need it for their future. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and any amount will used to change our students' lives.
