Help me give my students the chance to open their minds to computer science.

I am really excited to officially start my teaching career. I will be teaching a group of wonderful second graders. Most of my students come from low economic and disadvantaged homes. Despite their environment, they come to school eager to learn and enjoy working in collaborative groups. This year I want to introduce coding and computer science to my students, we will start with Code.org: Computer Science Fundamentals. From coding, there they can learn cardinal directions. They also will become better listeners which will help them follow directions. I am hoping to expand their learning in programming this year.
Parents and teachers alike realize that it is almost impossible to stay current in our high tech world without the use of technology in the classroom. We see Bee-Bots as one way to allow our students to stretch their cognitive wings and soar to a new level of technology. These amazing little "bees" challenge, inspire and motivate while the students learn the 21st-century skill of coding. We know that the earlier students are introduced to coding the more comfortable they will be later in life. Developing this skill may lead to a career in technology, at the very least students will see the computer as a valuable tool. We believe that if we are able to receive funding for the Bee-Bots, mats and docking station, we will be able to impact the lives of our second-grade students now and in their future. Every student learns differently, and these chairs, whiteboards, and seat sacks will make sure students have a variety of materials to work with. My students need flexible seating. Flexible seating will allow students to move around because they're balls of energy and love engaging in learning!
Your generous donations will enable teachers to introduce coding to some of our youngest learners.
As students learn, work together, problem solve and think outside of the box, they will be inspired to do more with coding. Bee-Bots can and will open the windows of creativity allowing students to more fully explore the endless world of computing. In addition to classroom use, we are hopeful that we can start an after-school coding club. We hope you will consider our request.
