This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the reason I chose this profession. It's not my career, it's my calling. I love that their creative and curious minds push me to be the best teacher I can be. The majority of my students are second language learners and I love the ability to engage them in hands on activities. They have yet to experience so much and I'm excited when I have the ability to expose them to subjects and/or ideas for the first time. I love witnessing all their "ah- ha" moments!

My Project

An important strategy to differentiate instruction within our classrooms is having center time. At my school we call it WIN Academy. "WIN" stands for, What I Need. During this time I can work with small groups and give them differentiated instruction. The problem I face is having enough centers that the rest of class can be actively involved with while I do small group instruction. These literacy centers will help engage students with hands on fun activities that they can enjoy and learn with. They will also help eliminate interruptions. As you can see it they will be a "win- win" for all!
