My Project

My students have hit a wall this week when calculating the volume of three dimensional shapes. In order to reach high level math curriculum by the time they reach 8th grade, students need to be able to use technology to better understand math. I want students to be able to use a scientific calculator and be comfortable with that technology throughout middle school.

I want to introduce calculators early, so that my students can use them to further their own understanding of mathematics.

It's important that students learn that a calculator is a tool to use for their education, not a way to cheat.
