Tinkering, Designing & Inventing Through Makerspace
Help me give my students A variety of tinkering and collage materials for our new Makerspace center! This center will help support and encourage creativity, problem solving and language skills while incorporating STEM.
My preschoolers are creative, energetic and bright students who would greatly benefit from multi-sensory experiences to help promote their language, creativity, early math skills, sensory needs and overall development. My students are a group of diverse learners with a variety of strengths, needs and interests. They would greatly benefit from materials that promote hands-on learning and support their creativity and early engineering skills.
Our school is located in a low income, urban setting.
The students are creative individuals who do not always have access to the materials they need to help support thier creativity and early engineering skills at home. Each student in my class is unique and wonderful and deserves to have the best learning experience possible in our PreK classroom!
My Project
Our new makerspace center will be designed to help encourage and support student learning experiences through tinkering, inventing and engineering. The students will have the opportunity to visit the makerspace throughout the day and experiment with materials to create and invent new objects.
Preschoolers are natural explorers and inventors who would benefit from building and experimenting with materials like binder clips, pipe cleaners, wooden pieces and feathers to help encourage exploration through tinkering and designing while supporting each child’s creativity and imagination.
The materials requested will greatly enhance each student’s learning experience while supporting problem solving and early engineering skills.
