My Project
I teach curious, hands-on learners in grades 6–8 who are always eager to explore, build, and solve problems in our computer science classroom. They thrive on creativity, movement, and collaboration, and they come alive when learning feels like "play with purpose." My goal is to build an engaging, meaningful computer science curriculum that blends coding, STEAM exploration, critical thinking, and SEL.
Right now, our tools live in plastic bins, but we have nowhere to house them.
Help us create our Tinker Thinking Towers: secure, student-accessible metal cabinets to organize and protect our STEAM and coding supplies. In our classroom, students code, build, design, and problem-solve through hands-on challenges. From guiding Sphero robots through mazes to lighting up circuits with Circuit Playground Express, students develop both technical and social-emotional skills. They build with KEVA planks and Legos, solve logic puzzles, play strategy games, and create with everything from magnets to recycled treasures.
We’re requesting lockable metal storage cabinets to organize all bins in one secure, student-friendly space, protect tools like Sphero robots, Circuit Playgrounds, and tech gear, make STEAM and coding supplies easily accessible, store unplugged coding games and puzzles safely, reinforce SEL skills like teamwork, responsibility, and empathy, and support computational thinking: pattern recognition, sequencing, logic, and debugging. These cabinets will help us create a space where “play with purpose” sparks creativity, deepens learning, and empowers every student inventor, coder, and thinker.
Thank you for helping us stay organized and inspired!
