What makes my students special is their desire to learn and better understand the world around them. As a world history teacher I have my students do a variety of assignments and projects that help them understand how history has influenced different regions of the world and how that relates to them at the current time.
I have students who come from many different backgrounds and it is fun for me to see all of my students gain a greater appreciation for the different cultures of the world.
I want to continue to teach my students about diversity and do projects and assignments that will help us all come to a better understanding of the history of the world.
My students continue to amaze me with their curiosity and overall desire to learn and make a difference in the world. With the challenges of covid, many of my students have fallen behind and have been feeling stress and anxiety about getting caught up and staying on track to graduate. I want to make sure they have access to materials and resources to help alleviate the concerns they have moving forward.
My Project
Project based learning activities are a great way for students to be engaged and have choice in their academic learning. The materials that I have selected for this project will be used by students for project based learning activities for the remainder of this year. The first project students will be working on is a timeline of major events in world history. My students will select a time period that interests them in world history, and create a timeline that represents the era they chose. This activity is engaging and allows students to be creative and collaborate with other students to decide what to put on their timeline. I will encourage students to use the resources to make their projects look neat, and when we are finished we will connect them around the room so students can see the progress that has been made in world history.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' abilities to analyze similarities and differences between time periods, locations, and major events in world history.
This will also give my students an opportunity to have social interactions with other students which is something they have been missing because of covid-19. I am excited to work with my students on this project and will proudly display their work on my classroom walls when they are completed.
