This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I teach the whole school STEAM. My official title is the Technology Teacher (Specials), but we do much more than that! We love learning about Science. In our class, we have fish, isopods, snails, mealworms, and a Madagascar Hissing Roach. My class provides the students with a place and the tools to have discussions about the world around them. I love seeing them get excited about learning! The verbal skills of my students with communication disorders has greatly improved in my class. I encourage them to talk about what we are doing, and they love interacting with the items and creatures we have.

The play food and money items will help my younger (Pre-K - 3rd) students with social skills, speech, math, and motor skills.

I will also discuss food webs, commerce, and potential careers.

The scissors and crayons will help fuel their creative mindset. Students often request to draw, and make things. I have pencils and colored pencils from last year, but could really use some crayons and scissors.
