My students need toys to inspire creativity and make meaningful connections with their environment! Dramatic play and constructive play are wonderful ways for young children to learn. These toys will act as tools for their learning!
I am a preschool, special education teacher at a Title One school in the San Francisco Bay Area. My classroom is one of five special day classes within the school. More than half of the students we work with, live in low-income households.
My students are happy, silly and curious kiddos who benefit from supportive and engaging materials.
Some of my students require more support than others to access their learning environment. Some of my students are non-verbal or have a speech delay. Because of this, they need support in communicating their needs to myself and my fellow teacher aides. I want to help my students use their voice. By adding augmentative communication materials, I will be able to use Picture Exchange Communication System with the velcro pages. Please help my kiddos use their voice to express their unique personalities!
My Project
As Albert Einstein once said: “Play is the highest form of research.” Through play, children are using their creativity to make meaningful connections with their environment. As an early childhood educator, I believe that you need to encourage play, so that learning can occur.
Including exciting new toys in my classroom will foster creativity and learning!
Every child can learn and make meaningful connections. I believe in each child’s unique abilities. I want my students to love coming to school, so I do everything in my ability to make my classroom a positive and happy place. Including these new toys will help ensure my students' success!
