My Students

As the new school year is quickly approaching, I am beginning to prepare for the upcoming school year and my new classroom of learners. Although I have not met my new group of fourth graders, I usually have around 30 students of differing abilities. I am very excited to meet my new group of students in just a few weeks. 42% of my school's student population live in low-income housing. Last year my school district adopted 3 promises to address key elements impacting student and school success.

The three promises are that every student is known by name, strength, and need by at least one adult, teachers will increase/focus instruction from direct to engaged and empowered instructional opportunities, and 90% of 3rd graders will read at or above grade level.

My Donor's Choose projects will reflect these promises.

My Project

My 4th grade classroom can sometimes get a little messy. Between breakfast in the classroom, art projects, and muddy shoes, our learning environment is not so inviting by the end of the school day.

My students need a cordless vacuum cleaner, broom and dustpan, and wipes to help keep their classroom clean.

I strongly believe that the students should take responsibility for keeping our learning space clean. I also believe that this would help them to take ownership of our classroom. I would love to provide my students with materials that give them the ability to clean their classroom everyday.
