My Students

My students are AU-Some and inspire me daily to work hard and push myself to be a better person. My class is a classroom mixed with ten amazing students, primarily ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). With the support of our incredible ESE team, we promote inclusion for our students and are constantly working towards giving them additional opportunities to work with their peers in academic and social activities. As we always say in our class, "You can't spell AwESomE without ESE"!

My Project

Sensory Input and Output are a huge factor in Education with students on the Autism Spectrum These items will be the start of Stone Lakes very own Sensory Room.

This room will offer all of our SL students a safe place to go when needing a sensory break.

A Sensory Room is a specially designed room which combines a range of stimuli to help individuals develop and engage their senses. These can include lights, colours, sounds, sensory soft play objects, aromas all within a safe environment that allows the person using it to explore and interact without risk. By developing this room, we will be able to offer our students a safe, surrounding, sensory sitting area which in turn reduces stress and assist in putting the student in a mindset for learning.
