My Students

My students come from a challenging, low-income, urban community. Even when faced with challenges and struggles, they are excited to come to school. We have a diverse population with many students from all over the world.

My 5th grade students are motivated, full of energy and ambitious!

They are eager to learn new things and want to work hard. Each student deserves a high-quality education with high-quality materials. While they are with me, they will get a high-quality education with the support and guidance they need to be outstanding members of the community.

My Project

By having the multi-leveled TIME for Kids magazines, my students will be able to read successfully by themselves while I am assisting a rotating small group of students. While they are waiting to work with me, they need to have time to independently read.

TIME for Kids is an awesome news magazine that will give them another choice in their free choice reading time!

My students LOVE reading about current events and topics that relate to them in an interesting way! If they have their own copies, they will be able to annotate and answer the questions for each article!
