The children are experimenting with the Gizmo Building Set and they are getting better at creating intricate set-ups with the gears. Another favorite is the Brainometry set. They are challenged to build the puzzles shown and they also love to create some of their own. \r\nI can't wait to add the other stem activities as the year progresses. I know they will love them just as much. We started the year off with all of the first grade things we needed! The first grade is the best pencils were a big hit on our first day of first grade! Our crayons have been put to good work creating and learning through art and as first graders we took our first quizzes in math. Having privacy folders to keep us focused on our own work made that easier for us. We have been practicing writing our first and last name by using our name plates and the information on them helps us so much in other areas. We use our side pockets to store our white boards, math templates and sound folders. This has kept them neat and in the right place so we know just where to find them!\r\n\r\nI cannot emphasize enough how important having your support to provide these items to my class is. I just could never do it on my own and it makes such a difference in our day to day learning in first grade.
