One of my students asked if she could be in charge of passing the materials out and putting them away. Another student told me she feels very \"official\" with her paper on the clipboard!\r\n\r\nSometimes, being away from the standard desk and being able to get a little comfy and have some independence makes everything seem so much easier. They were eager to sit together on the carpet and noticed right away how much more organized our classroom felt with the new storage drawers. Students took pride in helping sort and store materials, which has encouraged responsibility and independence. That is thanks to your support of my Learning Through Play project. We have currently added two of the many activities to our recess selections. They are both a big hit. \r\nShhhh! Don't tell them that they are learning during recess because they are just having so much fun! The children are experimenting with the Gizmo Building Set and they are getting better at creating intricate set-ups with the gears. Another favorite is the Brainometry set. They are challenged to build the puzzles shown and they also love to create some of their own. \r\nI can't wait to add the other stem activities as the year progresses. I know they will love them just as much.
