My Students

I teach 18 sweet first graders along with my colleagues who also have a similar make up of students.These kids have huge hearts and so much love for one another but come from a variety of backgrounds. Kiddos in my school range from very privileged while others worry about their next meal. We are also blessed to have ESE and ELL students in our schools population. They push themselves every day to achieve things they are told aren’t possible. These kids deserve the best education they can get.

My Project

TIME for Kids is uniquely positioned to teach kids to recognize and value authentic and trustworthy journalism.

The magazine provides age-appropriate stories kids are excited about, Information just for kids that explains the world around them, High-quality, trusted TIME journalism that teaches news literacy, Instructional materials that are aligned to Common Core and state standards.

Our students will be able to have hands on examples while practicing their reading. Students will be able to have authentic experience with real world topics. This is will another great resource for our teachers to use to provide the best support for both literacy and social studies.
