My Students

I will be teaching 4th-6th grade social studies next year!

I hope to be able to receive funding to purchase Time for Kids and Scholastic News magazines to keep Social Studies class engaging for students.

Currently, the school doesn't have a SS curriculum so I'd love to incorporate current events with Time for Kids magazines. Thank you for your support!

My Project

The Time for Kids magazines, Scholastic News, and Geographic Spin interactive magazines will help students to be engaged and excited about social studies class and current events.

These magazines will come every week and provide meaningful, engaging topics for students to read about, discuss, and respond to.

I choose to order both the 3rd/4th grade edition and the 5th/6th edition Time for Kids. This will allow 4th-6th grade students who have different reading abilities to all have access to the content. I am only ordering a small sample of 15 of each grade level because the subscription will come with free digital access which can used on school laptops or on students' home devices in the event of remote learning.

Additionally, we focus on geography and map skills so I ordered 15 student subscriptions of Scholastic News and Scholastic Geography/Science Spin weekly readers.
