It's TIME FOR KIDS again!! With the start of a new school year I am requesting a class subscription to TIME FOR KIDS by Time Magazine. I would like each of my 5th grade students in my Chicago school to get a chance to read the news in a manner that is kid-friendly. These TIME FOR KIDS magazines are designed to motivate kids to read and are filled with Social Studies, Science and Math articles, exactly the subjects I teach to my homeroom. These magazines also are a perfect non-fiction tool that will help prepare my students for the yearly standardized test. Some of my students have never even read a newspaper or any other non-fiction magazine. This will be a first for many of them. I would like to keep them informed and up to date on current events happening in our country and around the world. I tried using regular newspapers last year but some of the articles were not very appropriate for my 5th graders and I had a few unhappy parents. Now, with TIME FOR KIDS ,I know this will be a successful way for my students to know what is happening in our world, in a language they can understand.
